Trakya University is a public university located in Edirne, Turkey. Initially comprising three institutes, four vocational schools, and four colleges, the university now encompasses more than 12 colleges, six institutes, nine schools, and 13 research and application centers. In 2014, the university had a student body of approximately 34,630 Turkish and international students. Trakya University's campus, located in the center of Edirne, covers an area of 175.24 square meters. The university building was used as a train station until 1974, making it a magnificent work of art. Trakya University strives to maintain the alignment of its academic activities with international standards and works to enhance research and development activities. Today, the university is ranked 51st among the best universities in Turkey. The current president is Professor Yener Yörük. The language of instruction is Turkish, and some of its faculties also offer instruction in English.
