Necmettin Erbakan University is a public institution located in the city of Konya, Turkey. It was established on July 14, 2010, with Professor Dr. Muzaffer Şeker appointed as its first rector. The university spans three campuses covering an area of 27,000 square meters. On April 11, 2012, the university was renamed in honor of Necmettin Erbakan, a former Turkish prime minister known for his Islamic-oriented political approach.
Erbakan was the founder of the Welfare Party, which was later banned in 1998. He was imprisoned and later released by a presidential pardon from Abdullah Gül. Today, the university continues to grow as a symbol of modern education and political legacy.
